A few weeks ago, I was called and invited to attend one of those Scouts, Eagle Scout Ceremony. Unfortunately, it fell on the same day I was flying out to KC, so I was unable to attend. Then this past week I was coming home and noticed that Zack Luker's car was at my house. Nothing unusual as him and his father are mine and Chris' home teachers. I wondered if maybe I had forgotten an appointment. I pulled up to the house and Zack jumped out of the car and said he had something for me. He then hand me the Eagle Scout Mentor Pin. He said that I had helped him when he started out and that I even followed him to his new ward. To say I was humbled is an understatement. I didn't really know what to say. I mean Thanks, doesn't seem like nearly enough. But it was awesome to be thought of in this way and it reminded me of how much I enjoyed that calling and how much I do miss those days.

Humbled
I am certain you all know or remember that for just over three years I worked with the Scouting Program. This was something I never had a desire to do, let me emphasize NEVER. That was until I started serving. It turned out to be a great experience. I went on backpacking trips, hikes, camp outs, ice skating, tubing, shoveled walks, gave hours of service. Those scouts earned hundreds (Literally) of merit badges, many rank advancements and we had a handful of boys that earned their Eagle Scout Award. That was five years ago.
I have tried to stay in contact with many of those Scouts. I have gone to mission farewells, homecomings, weddings, etc. It has been fun to watch them grow and become wonderful young men. Well, this past week something happened that humbled me.

I love it! It's amazing how something that seems so small to an adult means so much to a child. Everything you do counts!
