The past few weeks have really been a whirlwind of the good, the better, and best. It actually seems wrong to include them all in one post but I think I will anyway.
The Good
A little bit of a celebration. On May 7, I was elected as President of the Nephi Chamber of Commerce. Originally, when I was nominated I wondered if I should decline the nomination. I was new in the chamber and was probably not as familiar with everything as others might be. Ultimately, I considered the opportunity and honestly, I am passionate about my hometown. I love living in Nephi, I think we have great home town businesses and I would like to do what I can to help promote our local businesses and economy. I am very excited about the great people I get to work with the next two years. (I was elected for a two-year term.) Let me officially put all of you Nephi City Locals on notice. Plan on being involved, I will recruit you and utilize your talents!
Better
Saturday May 18, AZOMITE held our annual Shareholder's meeting and the Grand Opening of our Complex Expansion. What a feat it was! The production crew pulled off nothing short of a miracle to have everything done and looking great for the meeting. We had a ribbon cutting ceremony and luncheon all at the complex. Fortunately, we had scheduled a 40 x 40 tent, which kept us dry during the ceremony and lunch. We were fortunate enough to have Utah State Commissioner of Agriculture in attendance, he presented our CEO with a letter from Governor Herbert. The event turned out great! Once everything was over Saturday I was certain I would go home and just pour myself into bed for the rest of the weekend. That didn't quite turn out, but I did get to sit in the La-Z-Boy with my feet up and read a little.
Best
The week before Mother's Day, we took off for a few days to get in some much needed fun in the sun! We spent Thursday through Sunday at Sand Hollow Resort in Southern Utah and had a great time! Hours were spent on the boat fishing and playing and of course just having some tradition Painter fun times! Sunday morning we took the opportunity to celebrate mom. What a remarkable and wonderful mother! I hope she enjoyed Mother's Day and gets many hours of use out of her gift.
