Happy Birthday Grandpa

Here it is the 25th of December and I am a day late posting this.  I fully intended to have this post done on the 24th.  Christmas Eve has always been an extra special day to my family.  It was the day we celebrated the birthday of my Grandpa Williams.
He was one of those people that you wish everyone could meet.  He was always the most kind, compassionate and giving person I knew.  The second he met someone he cared for their well-being.  Just one of those wonderful people that would do anything for anyone.
I loved going fishing with him, spending the night at his house and helping him cook breakfast the next morning.  He loved bacon, but he loved it crisp!  When you cooked it for him, he kept telling you longer, then when you thought it was just seconds away from burning he would let you know it was time to take it off the heat.
He was the first person I ever know that wore a hearing aid and they whistled very loudly and I often wondered how he managed to wear them.  His phone had a small dial in it, that would turn up the sound so you could hear the person on the other end better.  That was the first time I ever even knew that could be done.
It was a hard worker and always kept an immaculate garden with the best peas.
There hasn't been a Christmas Eve go by where I have not thought of my Grandpa.  I miss him, he was one of my buds and I loved spending time with and learning from him.  Grandpa, hope you had a great birthday celebrating with grandma and your children with you.  Love you!
