In the Middle of Hunting Season

As most of you know, I love the fall time of year. This is mostly because of my favorite season "Hunting" season. This year I have many opportunities to hunt, but it seems like I have actually spent less time hunting than I usually do. In August, we (meaning the Painter Boys) took off for the Bow Hunt. We spent several days in tents getting up early staying up late and hiking all over the mountains. I had a great time. I did pull the bow back one time, but the buck took off before I had a chance to release. There is significant more story, but it is much better when you can actually see me act out the story. I believe the story actually includes the phrase "Ass over tea kettle". Once we returned home, we went out another time and Paul was able to take down a nice buck. I was on a completely different mountain and didn't get to see any of the action, but did hear most of it on the Talkabouts.

I missed most of the Muzzleloader this year, because of my work trip to Costa Mesa. (See Previous post) But I did make it out a couple of evenings where we saw the buck we have all been wanting, but didn't get a chance to put him in my sites.

Fortunately, I have two more opportunites coming up. The Utah rifle hunt starts on the 20th. My final opportunity will be November 3-9. We were lucky enough to draw out on a Colorado Tag. Let's hope if I get the opportunity, I don't miss like the hunter in the video below.
