After the awards ceremony we went to Tucano's for a luncheon. For those of you unfamiliar with Tucano's, they are a Brazilian BBQ, where the
servers come to your table with the meat and carve it for you at your table. It is an all you can eat place and trust me, a group of about 20 can do some serious damage. We were schedule to go see a movie as well, but we couldn't fin
Scott even told us that we will have the opportunity to put the party again together next year. I hesitate to even think such a thing as this was year number two. I think three years might lead to a more permanent position. :-)

We celebrated my brother Paul's Birthday, with presents and time together with the family. I have to tell you, I love getting together with my family on each other's birthdays. It is always such a great reason to get together and just enjoy the time together.

As usual, the Saturday before Christmas we get together with my mom's side of the family. Traditionally to celebrate we have the annual Christmas Brunch. This year was no different, biscuits & gravy, breakfast casserole, and quite possibly the most important part of the breakfast, Aunt Lorene's scones.
After brunch, we had the opportunity to share stories about our grandparents. It was great to hear stories and share memories about my grandparents. Additionally, the younger children had the opportunity to visit with Santa as well as receive the Williams Traditional Orange.

This turned out to be a pretty busy day. I had the opportunity to speak in Sacrament Meeting. Since it was the Sunday before Christmas, my assignment was to speak about the Christmas Message. When preparing the talk, it was a bit slow at first, but once I got focused and in tune everything seemed to just flow. Preparing this talk was much easier than many that I have done in the past. I was a little overwhelmed at the thought of speaking on the Christmas message and I took the assignment very seriously.
When it was my time, there was still about 20-25 minutes left in the meeting. I seriously hoped that I was not going to be too boring for everyone. I was very surprised at how quickly the time seemed to just fly by. Before I knew it, it was time to wrap up and sit down, I even had a little more stuff that I could have spoken to, but I knew when it was time. I hope the message had a positive impact on everyone there and as I said before, hopefully I was not too boring.
In addition to speaking in church, the Sunday before Christmas was the Painter Family Christmas Party. This year we celebrated Christmas around the world. We were supposed to bring a dish from a foreign country. I took a fairly easy way out and made Spaghetti ala Carbonara. I had never before made this treat, but it turned out to be pretty popular as I didn't bring much of it home.
The party was great as we ate dinner and had our present exchange. In addition we played some games and spent the time catching up with one another. All in all, it was a great day.

Christmas was once again a fantastic day. I do love Christmas and this time of year. I love everything about it, the day we celebrate our Savior's birth, and the family time we spend together. I won't go into much detail, but just know we had a great time.

New Year's Eve was a fun time. As per usual, we had a party at the house which of course included FOOD. The traditional Surf and Turf (Prime Rib and Shrimp.) After dinner, we played games and counted down the New Year with Dick Clark.
This year we cut it short as New Year's Day we woke up early to start the year off right with an ice fishing trip to Otter Creek. The ice was thick, the weather was great, and best of all the fish were biting. We came home with a cooler of fish which we cooked up on the 2nd (as we watched the Utes win the Sugar Bowl).
The Holiday Season this year was great! I really enjoyed my time off work and the time spent doing not much else!
