Okay, last week I was reminded of a song from the movie Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Because of the song "Breakaway" which is played during the opening credits of the movie, I decided I needed to have my memory refreshed an watch Bill & Ted. Saturday morning while doing some cleaning I turned on Bill & Ted. Before long, I realized that I was no longer cleaning. Instead, I was sprawled out on the sofa laughing. I had completely forgotten how funny this movie is and how much I really, REALLY liked Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Traveling through time--in a phone booth--kidnapping historical figures for a class project. Why didn't I think of such a thing? Still, one of my favorite lines is:
Royal Ugly Dude: "Put Them in the Iron Maiden"
Bill & Ted: "Excellent"
Royal Ugly Dude: "Execute Them"
Bill & Ted: "Bogus"
It was in the trailers, I laughed every time I saw it 20 years ago. I laughed Saturday when I saw it again.
Much to my surprise, when Bill & Ted picked up Joan of Arc I looked at her and exclaimed--to no one at all--"That's Jane Weidin from The Go-Gos.!!!!!" I was very impressed with my keen knowledge of 80's trivia.
The movie is great and a true classic. Seriously, I may have to reconsider and put this in my top 5 comedy movies of all time. So, if you get a chance and want to a hardy laugh watch this movie.
