Bah, Grinch Bug!!!!

We are less than two weeks away from Christmas and usually at this point I am waist deep into the Season. However, this year I may have dipped my toe into the season but it seems like nothing has stuck. My Christmas cards have not been sent, I have barely bought a couple presents, and honestly I am the grumpiest I have been in ages.

I have made efforts to try and get out of this funk that I am in. I went to the Festival of Trees, which was really great. Some of those trees are absolutely amazing, people are incredible talented and creative. Seeing all of the efforts people put forth to help others was so touching, but still not enough to put me into the mood. A week or so ago, Amberle and I went to the Festival of Light in Spanish Fork. Driving through the park, seeing the lights, listening to the music and seeing the amazement on the kid's faces as they drove through, put a smile on my face, but didn't warm my heart. Wednesday this past week, I went to see the lights on temple square (which is why I chose this picture) and it was, as always, amazingly beautiful. I love seeing all of the various nativities and the lights are so warm. To me, there is no other place like temple square to get one into the Christmas Spirit. But this year, I just have not been able to get into it. I have even decorated my office so much, that I think Clark Griswold would be proud of me. But still--nothing.

At least I have recognized my lack of the Christmas Spirit. Maybe this is the first step to recovery? I hope to get my Christmas Cards done this week and maybe finish (start) my Christmas Shopping and I have a couple other tricks up my sleeve. Hopefully I can find something to put me in the mood.

I would love to hear if you have any suggestions on what I need to do to get into the Christmas Spirit. At this point I am willing to try just about anything.

Like I said "SERVICE" that will get you out of that funk. Not only that but maybe do some secret service, or secret gift delivery....that might always help.

Come to Salem and see the lights on the pond! Get out and walk around and enjoy the beautiful reflections and the silence. But I agree that service is the best way to catch the spirit. I hope you find it!
