This past weekend, the Chamber of Commerce hosted their first Farmer's Market. I have been a little worried about us not having enough vendors. I kept thinking we needed hundreds to make it a success. We actually had 6 and it was still a success!
The vendors we had were pretty busy the entire time. I checked with each of them as we were wrapping up the day and they all felt it was pretty successful. Which was music to my ears! I had to keep reminding myself "this is the first year, this is the first year!" I have learned that Nephi is a hard town to advertise. Although, I think it is becoming increasingly difficult in many areas. Obviously, as we were only hosting the event and not making money on it, we didn't want to spend the money for a television spot. Radio advertisements are difficult as well, as there is such a huge variety of radio stations. We put a few posters around town, which apparently did get some buzz, as I had people mention these posters. I guess it kind of depends what your target demographic is....oh wait, never mind. Let's not get discussing an entire marketing campaign.
Let me just say, our first foray into a Farmer's Market was a success and I am looking forward to our next one.
