NEPHI,
UTAH ANNOUNCES “IT’S HAUNTED!”
Nephi, UT – October 16, 2013 -- Throughout October, the City of Nephi will be transformed into a veritable Halloween Town, sure to delight visitors and residents, young and old alike. Local businesses, organizations and high school clubs are participating in the fun by decorating storefronts and visible areas, partaking in creative tomfoolery and even building monsters designed to give the entire town a spooky flair.
Kicking off the festivities, the Nephi City Library will be hosting
a series of Ghost Tours. Tour-goers will
be spirited around the scenic town on a ghostly hayride, by a veteran ghost
guide and storyteller. The Ghost Tours
will begin October 18-21 and continue October 25, 26 and 28, with rides at 6:30
PM. and 8:00 PM. Advance tickets are
available at the Library; $5 for adults, children ages 8 to 11 for $3. For more information on the Ghost Tours, contact
the library at 435-623-1312.
On Wednesday October 30, (3-5 PM) local businesses will be
sponsoring a Trick-or-Treating event for children under 11 years of age. In addition to treats, children will receive tickets
redeemable at the Nephi City Park from 4-6 pm, for ghoulish toys and scary
prizes.
Later that day (6PM), the Halloween activities culminate with a Pumpkin
Decorating and Carving Contest, sponsored by the Nephi Chamber of Commerce. Residents of all ages are invited to
participate. Prizes will be awarded in
the following categories; Spookiest, Most Artistic, Traditional and Best Local
Representation (high school mascot, business logo, etc).
