I am not certain exactly what qualifies it as such, or even why it is true, but something about today has just made it feel as though this could very possibly be my best birthday EVER!
My family and friends spoiled me rotten. The well wishes started Friday and are still coming my way. One of our family traditions is to have a favorites dinner. Guess it isn't always "favorite" it is more or less dinner requested by the birthday person. I don't know if it is because mom and dad are getting ready to head out for 18 months or what, but when I made my request she didn't even bat an eye. I wanted a BBQ steak dinner complete with potato casserole (we call them Yummy potatoes, most others call them Funeral potatoes), frog eye salad and my favorite of all favorites, carrot cake. Yep, it was a total carb. overload, but a great meal!
Then, my family gave me gifts and Baby A helped me to open them up. Of course, she wasn't always interested in opening the cards. Okay, she liked the cards opened, but wasn't too particular about where and how they were opened. We just sat around and visited for a while, which turned it into a perfect evening. So grateful for my family! See, nothing over the top spectacular, but just a great day with the people I love the most.
Mike took this picture of me and the super cute Baby A. Pretty certain that despite this being a bit blurry, this is one of the best pictures of us! That little finger she is holding up is the one that Uncle Clint is completely wrapped around.
