I think I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.

There are some days when you sit down and say: "I am glad that is over." Well, this was one of those weekends. Don't get me wrong, I had a great weekedn, but it is just nice to be done.

Saturday morning I was up early as it was the day of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation banquet. For those of you that don't know I have been serving as the financial office for the Mt. Nebo Chapter of this organization. For those of you that don't know about the RMEF see their web-site at: http://www.rmef.org/ Locally, we raise funds for conservation efforts. To achieve this, each year we hold a banquet that involves a day of sitting up tables and chairs for 300 people, getting the place ready with all the items for the auction and drawings. As well as making certain we have all the tickets ready and the list goes on and on. My last minute details included getting the program ready and making certain the computer systerm was ready to handle and record all the transactions. Additionally, I was reciving phone calls for tickets as well as calls from others with last minute questions. The current ringer on my phone was "What I Want" by Daughtry. By the end of the day, what I wanted was for my phone to stop ringing. The banquet turned out great. I have the opportunity to meet with everyone as they are leaving (to make certain they are paid in full) everyone I spoke with seemed like they had a great time, which is a huge relief. I think I ended up getting home close to midnight.

Sunday morning I was up at 5;30, because it was Superbowl day and I had to make certain all of the pre-party cooking done. I made the cheesecake, peeled all the eggs (for deviled eggs) and made the 7-layer bean dip. I also had to print agendas for church meetings and then get over to the church by 8:00. (I think I made it with a couple minutes to spare.) After church I had to come home and get everything else ready. I spread the word that the party would start about 4;15. About 4:00 the rest of the family showed up. Well, the spread was not quite complete, the pizza rolls needed to finish baking, but everything else was ready to go. We waited until they were done and then the party officially started.
Once everyone was eating and the big game started, I thought I could sit down and relax. Not to be! I sat down, but that game was anything but relaxing. It was seriously one of the best SuperBowls I have watched. (Second only to the Rams stopping the Titans short of the goal-line to preserve their victory.)
(The picture at the top should be here. But I am having internet connection problems and it won't move. User your imagination.)

The weekend was great, but I am glad it is over.
