Friday night my ward's Young Women group held their annual fundraiser. This was not your typical fundraiser of them knocking on the door asking for money. No, they just pass a list around Sunday School asking if anyone was interesting in a Prime Rib dinner. Well, that is an easy YES! Let me tell you what happens. We sign up for the dinner and then a couple weeks later, the dinner is served for us in the ward cultural hall. (For those of you not LDS the cultural hall is really just a gym.) Anyway, as you walk in, you see about 30 different tables in front of you all decorated differently. (Each girl decorates their table with a different theme.) Anyway, we have to buy our tickets which is just the cost of the meal. They then serve us the dinner and their actual fundraising is done by the tips we donate for the service. The meal includes an appetizer, green salad, baked potato, vegetable and then dessert. Appetizers are all done by the young women and are different with each table.
The night is a lot of fun! The young women all do such a great job and it is nice to sit back and enjoy a great meal with many of your neighbors and friends, all while helping a good cause.
