This past Sunday I was able to give the lesson in the 5th Sunday Combined Relief Society and Priesthood lesson. Does this count as part of the Speaking Tour? I almost think it does, because it is outside of the scope of my normal 4th Sunday Priesthood only lesson.
With the economic changes we have been experiencing lately, my bishop has been wanting to have a lesson on managing a budget. We had someone lined up to give the lesson, but a week before the day he had to back out for another commitment. Bishop Lunt looks at me and said; "You work in finance don't you? Do you think you could give the lesson?" I told him I thought I could. The whole time thinking, preparing a budget for a public company is a little different than a person's individual budget. Nevertheless, I was still willing to help out.
I managed to pick up a few pamphlets and did a little on-line research in developing budgets. So, when Sunday came around I had enough literature and information to choke an elephant. Needless to say, we didn't get through the entire lesson. I feel a little bad because there was so much good and important information we didn't get to cover; I almost want to give the rest of the lesson this Sunday. Wait, let's not get silly now. I really learned quite a bit about making a budget and realize just how much I should keep one. My goal this week has been to start recording what I spend for 8 weeks, so I can average it out and start making a budget. So far so good. I will be certain to let you know how the rest turns out. Oh and if any of you want any information or help, let me know and I will refer you to the resources I used.

It totally counts in the speaking tour!
You see, this is a prime example of why we should keep to ourselves and not give out any information that could cause us work later. When am I going to follow my own advice?! I'm sure your lesson was awesome.
