Quantum of Solace

So, my first movie review in a few months is for Quantum of Solace, the latest James Bond movie. I have to say, I liked it, I liked it a lot. Thanks to the Internet I didn't have to wait in line to buy the tickets, but I did have to wait in line to actually get into the theater. I was about half-way back in the line so I figured there was no way I was going to get decent seats. Well, I was wrong. We were about a quarter of the way up above the isle, which in stadium seating is much better than the lower bowl.

The movie started right where Casino Royale left off. So if you have not seen it or if you have forgotten what it was about, do a quick rental before you go. There was action from the get-go! Car chases and explosions and action was all a part of this movie. Quite a bit of violence, but nothing excessive or over the top.

During the middle of the movie it seemed the plot started to wear a little thin and I found myself looking at my watching. I had heard this movie was under the 2-hour mark but at that point I thought to myself, I think I have been here for over two hours. Then again it might have been the over 20 minutes of previews. Oh I hate that many previews. (Unless of course it is for movies that I really want to see.) Anyway, once back on track the movie grabbed my attention and kept me going the rest of the way through the movie.

When all was said and done. I really liked the movie. I think Daniel Craig is a great James Bond and it is kind of fun to watch without all the gadgets. Although I did wonder if he might need to call in McGyver for some quick screw driver and raspberry jelly escape tactics. Go see this movie. It is fun and I think you will really enjoy. So definitely two thumbs up.
