This Friday it will be six years since you went home with Grandma. I can't believe how much has happened during that time and how much we miss you. Hunting season hasn't been the same without you. I always looked forward to stopping by your house and showing you what we found. Grandpa you would be so proud, this year Chris killed an elk on your property out in Dog Valley. But I had to spot it for him.

I still love going over to the lot, but it sure seems empty without you. Sometimes I walk through the barns and look around. I like to poke my head into where the chickens were. Do you remember the time you had to get that hen away from me when I was collecting eggs? I made it out with just a few scratches.
You were one of the reasons I went to college. You always told me to get my education and I did. You thought that not finishing your education held you back. I only hope to one day be half the man you were. You were a hard worker all your life you had the respect of a family that loved and adores you, no one could ask for a better example than for you.
A number of times I have noticed that I have started using your handshake. I always use it when I am greeting someone that I care about. I wonder how old you were when you started that handshake?
I know that we all miss you. But I also know that you are happy to be back with Grandma, the love and devotion you had for her sparkled in your eyes.
Thanks for being you. Love you!
