Day 1: Days That Don't Turn Out As Expected

This morning as I woke up, I reviewed the list of things I had to get done today. I knew that I needed to buckle down in order to get them all done. Well, as the day started to wear on, my list was not getting any shorter, and my frustration level was growing.
At the end of my day, I began a review of what from my listed actually got accomplished. It was dismal at best, but as I thought back over my day, I don't think I would change it much. You see, it ended up being a day with family. I got to visit with my brother Paul and his wife Tracy for a while, Mike and Ali stopped by to visit tonight, I stopped by my parent's house and caught-up with them as well. But I think one of the best parts of the day was hanging out with my nephew Chase.
Chase agreed to go with me to help me take the picture for my Christmas card. I had a location all scouted out and when we tried to get there, the road was closed. I wasn't certain when the forest service came through and locked the gate, but I couldn't get to where I needed to go. So we turned around and just spent a couple hours driving around the mountains, catching up with one another and even seeing a few deer. The time was great and as I dropped Chase off back at his house, I began to wonder when he started to grow up. He should still be this little kid not a teenager in high school!
Even though my day didn't turn out as I planned, it still turned out great! And so, it becomes my first item of gratitude!

Nice post Clinton...
I love your "glass half full" attitude. I need some of it to rub off on me.
