Due to other invitations and activities, we decided to do our Fireworks on Saturday Night. What a great time we had. Several families in my parent's neighborhood must have had the same thought as probably close to 40 people gather in front of their homes to light their fireworks. Everyone did their fireworks out near the road and we could all see one another's light displays.

We did some of the traditional fireworks from the local stands.

You could hear cheering across the road.

There was "Oooh's"

and "Aaah's"

Even though I was a little slow with some of my pictures it was a great time. While watching the fireworks, having conversations with the neighbors across the street, and enjoying the company of friends and family, I realized that I was living a slice of Americana. One of those experiences that you can look back on and remember it fondly. I also realized how blessed I am to live in this free country. Sure, our country might have some problems, but how lucky we are to live in this land where we can sit outside with our neighbors and share fireworks, conversation, and friendship without fear. This is my Independence Day Message, remember how lucky we are to live in this great country and remember the great blessing we are able to have as a result. Happy Independence Day Everyone! GBA!!!!!
