This past week, we had a "blast" out at our (meaning my employer) mine. Literally, it was a blast. Since this was something I had never seen before, I was given permission to be there and watch the festivities. I invited Chase along, since I know what a science guy he is, I thought this might be right up his alley. Besides, what guy doesn't like to see things go boom? In the course of roughly 45 seconds I took roughly 45 pictures. (Thank you continuous setting.) Below are a few of those pictures.
Before
Boom
Boom
Pow
After
The explosion wasn't as loud as I expected it to be and I was a little surprised that it was over so quickly. I have seen firecracker explosions that last longer. Honestly though, it was still pretty cool to see it happen. If you want to see a few more of the 45 pictures, drop me a line and I can send them your way. It is awesome to watch them as a slide show.
