A few weeks ago, while out on a 4-Wheeler ride and hike, I ran across this cactus. I thought the little red buds were great and the dark green grass around the edges framed the cactus nearly perfectly. Since that time, I have thought about venturing back out to see if I could find this cactus in bloom. Alas, I haven't managed to make the trip back out a priority enough. Instead, I will let you imagine the bright red blooms on this cactus don't forget to imagine the rock it is nestled against for protection.

I never would have taken a picture of a cactus....which is funny because it turned out very pretty!
