Not that I am obsessive or anything. But once I had taken my new camera out for a test run, I knew I had to take it out again. One of the reasons I had originally wanted a new camera was to be able to take better pictures at night. I decided this is what I was going to test on this go round. Sunday night I took a little drive over to Manti and took a few pictures.
My first shots were from the Northwest side of the Temple. This is only one of a handful that turned out. From the distance, the "help" screen on my camera recommended the use of a tri-pod. I currently do not own one, but I know this purchase is on the horizon.
I really liked the view from this location. However, I think the lights around the temple are a bit distracting. Not certain if a photo shop program and training course will be a purchase before or after the tripod purchase. I do know that it is also on the list.
This one was probably my favorite of the whole trip. I loved this angle and the seeing the temple through the trees felt pretty symbolic.
This was the best picture from this side. While looking through the pictures, I really began to notice that I don't hold the camera level. A few years ago, I received a comment regarding one of my photos that I needed to watch my Horizon Line. I had chalked up my previous experience to standing on a boat and doing my best just to stay standing. However, as I scrolled through these pictures, it was very evident that I tilt my camera down to the left a little. Something I need to work on!
I can definitely say I am loving the new camera! I can't believe how crisp the pictures look. I am now planning my next picture journey!
