Upward always Upward!

While out and about over Memorial Weekend, one day we ended up taking a short hike.  Upon our departure, I wasn't certain how far we were planning on going, so I brought my little camera.  It ended up taking some great pictures.  15,000 + pictures and my ELPH is still going strong.  Anyway, we walked through a small grove of spiraling pine trees at the top of the trees the sun was trying to shine through.  I knew I had to grab a few pictures.  Getting as low as I could, without actually laying flat on my back I aimed upward.  Below are my two favorites from this little experiment.
I am not certain which is my favorite, as this one above better shows the wisp of clouds through the tops of the trees.
However, this one shows more of the large tree trunk, which just seems like a more powerful picture.

The hike turned out to be a pretty good little jaunt.  Paul's new pup Buster Brown came with us, and we must have worn him out.
I was a little slow with the picture, he managed to pick his head up just before I snapped the picture.  Otherwise the picture would have been a full beach.  Just the pup was tired, their other dog Clyde was still running around, kicking up dirt, and loving the mountains.
All in all, it was a great little hike.  Hopefully I will share some additional pictures another time.
