What would you do....um be?

More random mind melt from Clint. Yesterday I was at lunch with one of my friends/former co-workers. I looked at him and said; "Okay, if you were to win a million dollars in the lottery" Gary interrupts me with: "It's not enough" So, I qualified: "If you were to win a million dollars--post taxes in the lottery, even though it is still not enough, what would you do?" My question was directed in this, you have enough money to pay off your house, get out of debt etc., you could play a little, but you would still need to work, so what would you do? Does that makes sense? What would you be or do if you only had to have a job just to help with the day to day things? Would you stay in your current job? Find something part-time? Get involved in something you love? What would you do?
Gary sat thoughtful for a moment, I was expecting something profound from him. For those of you that don't know Gary, he always has a plan he knows the next step and he is always very thoughtful in what he says. I waited for something. All the while searching through Clinton to see what I would be. I looked at him and said: "I got nothin'"! I wondered about being a teacher, but thought I would probably kill a smart-mouthed student, so that is no good. I did tell Gary the one thing I could GUARANTEE is that I would not be doing what I am doing and would not be working where I am working.

Still at a loss driving home last night, I really did some searching and wondering what did I want to be when I was younger? Didn't I have dreams of being something better? When it came to me; I would either go into politics (someone needs to stand in line ready to replace Orrin when he FINALLY steps down) or I would want to be a DJ on the radio. I did that for a year on good old Thunder 91 and loved it. Maybe I could be a DJ. So, I would do one of those, DJ or Politics.

I am very interested to hear others opinions as well. What would you do?

That's a hard one - my first thought is that I would love a home decor business so I could travel around the world finding things to sell. But a little book shop would be fun too. Or maybe working for a micro-lending firm.

Well...I'm most certain that I would stay in my current job! I LOVE the people that I work with way too much to leave them. But with a million bucks...we could have soooo much more run everyday! I would go on a Disney cruise for SURE!

Kurt asked me this one day...If money wasn't an issue, what would you do? I would be a stay at home mom. I would be there at every school function, there for every scraped knee, available for every heart to heart...some of us envy Allissa's job A LOT!!!!

I would work exactly where I do. I love it, love it, love it. I would probably work a little less, and would certainly be glad not to worry about if and when the car breaks down or the next time it needs new tires!

I agree w/ Alissa. A million dollars could afford me to stay at home for years on end. I can't think of anything else I'd want to do. I like being my own boss.
