After several weeks of trying to arrange schedules, we were finally able to settle on a date for the First Annual Gingerbread Showdown! (12/23/11) I don't mind saying there was smack-talk involved and I may or may not have been the person responsible for starting the smack!
The teams were pre-determined to be Chris and Liz versus Clint and Amberle. At 7:00 p.m. the boxes were opened and construction commenced. We worked and worked and finally we ended up with the homes shown below.

Once we finished we wondered how we would determine the winners. Originally we thought about asking Mom and Dad Painter to be the official judges, but felt it would be unfair to put them in the middle of our contest. After a brief discussion, it was decided that we would turn to our friends, family and the webternet to help us determine our victors.

So, we are posting this link onto all of our Facebook profiles and from now until 11:59 p.m. on December 31, we ask you to cast a vote for your favorite Gingerbread House. The houses will remain anonymous as we want all votes to be completely impartial. At the Painter Party on New Year's Eve, the winner will be announced and prizes awarded.
Won't you please help us out and cast your vote? It is at the top right of this blog.

Great jobs! I loved them both but what finally was my decision maker was the peppermint candy walkway and the super cute/creative tree. LOVE IT! Go B!
