Took a Sunday drive yesterday with the sole purposed of coming up with my picture of the week. I have this incredible photographer friend that can find beauty in the most simple things. That was my goal. Find the beauty in something that I might otherwise ignore or miss. Which is exactly what happened. Initially, I drove right by this stump.
I hit the brakes on the car and backed up. This was exactly what I wanted. Something common, that most of the time I wouldn't even notice.
I decided that I really liked this picture. Although it is a bit dark, the old stump with the new growth in front of it is in fact not actually common, but it kind of unique in design. This might be one of my favorite pictures from this picture challenge.

Mission accomplished! Great job! I really think the stump is beautiful. Looks almost painted on.
