Buckle up! This might be the longest post I have had in ages! The year 2012 started full of promises and potential. I have to admit, it has been one of the more eventful years we have experienced.
January: Started the month with a new picture a week challenge. Which was met! What a great challenge given to me by my friend Natalie. I carried my camera with me everywhere and I began looking at the world more. Everything was evaluated to see if it was going to be picture worthy. January was a busy month preparing for the Elk Foundation Banquet. We were planning games, begging for donations and trying to figure out how many tickets we were going to sell. January is always a great month to catch your breath from the Holidays and prepare for the upcoming events of the new year.
February: For the first time in several years, I found myself once again living alone. Yep, I was back in the "Swinging" bachelor pad. Minus the swinging. I have discovered this year that living alone has many pros and cons. #1 I walk in the front door and the pants are off for the day! On more than one occasion, I have in fact chanted No Mas Pantelones. Which is where the title from this post has come from. (Just so you know, right after I kick of the pants, basketball shorts go on. I don't want any of you thinking Mr. Naked is running around my place.) Anyway, some of the other pros about living alone, cereal = dinner and there are no messes around that don't belong to me. Cons: No one else to wash the dishes and if there is a mess, no one else will be there to clean it up. Damn!
March: March was a very exciting month for the Painter Clan. On March 1 we welcomed Baby A to the family. That little girl was just what our family needed. That little smile and cute personality has everyone clamoring to hold her, wave at her, pinch her cheeks, or just give her loves. Less than ten days later we welcomed another girl to the family. On March 10 Baby Brother Chris married his Sweetheart Liz. It was a beautiful ceremony in Vegas with a follow-up open house here in Nephi. Throwing a birthday or two into March and the month was full of Celebration.
April: April was another exciting month for the Painter Family. My little buddy/brother finished his college education by graduating with his MBA. We of course celebrated by throwing a BBQ in his honor. Also in April Dad received the Silver Bowl Award for being an Juab County's outstanding volunteer of the year. This guy could not have two better examples nor could I be more proud of these two great men!
May: During the month of May, if you were looking for one of us, you would have to search the hills around Nephi. We did some camping, fishing, and exploring.
Mike and Ali blessed Baby A in May.
Much of my time was spent worrying about and trying to prepare for the Annual Stockholders meeting. My free time was spent taking pictures of flowers, flags, and maybe even a
Butterfly or two.
June: June was the start of fire season in the Juab county area. Which meant I grabbed some interesting pictures of the fire and smoke. But also due to the smoke in the air, we had some amazing sunsets and sunrises. We managed to take the boat out a few times and caught some good rays, but not many fish! (At least I didn't) June is a busy month for us as we celebrate Dad on Father's Day as well as 3 birthdays. After June, we know how to party.

July: I think it might have rained the entire month of July. The 4th of July were rained out. As always, July means the Ute Stampede. This year was no different. We watched, we played, we were rained on. Wait, let me say that again, we were DRENCHED. I remember rain storms during the stampede, but I don't ever remember them being this bad. This year we had guests attend the rodeo with us as the Erosky family from Vegas attended both Friday and Saturday nights shows. They are a great family and we had a lot of fun!
August: August means the Juab County Fair. This year in addition to a few photography entries, I entered into the 3D Archery Shoot. I didn't win; but I have to admit that I did have a great time. I don't normally enjoy people watching me shoot my bow, but the spectators on the bleachers didn't even intimidate me once. We celebrated Dad's Birthday in August. And I took a quick 2 day work trip to Victorville, California.

September: As usual, September saw us on the mountain for camping as well as for hunting. The AZOMITE summer work party was held at Hop-Creek Hide-A-Way. Little Brother M turned 31 and this cute couple to the left here celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
October: This was one of those months that I would prefer not to go through again. Most years it is one of my favorite months, the trees are changing colors, I am on the Mountain for Elk and Deer hunts. This year, that did happen, but we had a health scare with Mom and she ended up having surgery to have her gallbladder removed. Also, right before the start of the deer hunt, dad went to the Huntsman Center because he had been diagnosed with Melanoma. Fortunately, as of today he is cancer free. Halloween was great and it was a fun time participating with the Chamber of Commerce and their Halloween Town Celebration.
November: Aah, November. The official start of the Holiday Season. Before Thanksgiving this year, we had the Presidential Election, which didn't go how I had hoped, but I am still grateful for this privilege we have. I got to be a judge at the local high school FFA Salsa/Chili Contest. I had a great time! Hopefully, I will get invited back next year. I participated in another challenge of blogging about one thing I am grateful for each month. Which I loved! Helped me to appreciate more those things in my life. We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Williams family as well as a follow-up snacking at mom and dad's house. We also celebrated Black Friday by snagging up a few killer deals.
December: Once again, December proves to be the busiest month of the year. I wouldn't have it any other way. Love the Christmas Parties! Helped mom and dad plan the Williams and Painter family parties. Great work party at The Chef's Table. Went to the Jazz game where I watched the Jazz down the Spurs with a 3 at the buzzer. We finished the year off with the annual Painter New Year's Eve Party. This year we invaded Chris & Liz's abode and mom and dad once again spoiled us with Prime Rib, Salmon and Shrimp. The party was fantastic.
The year was a roller-coaster of ups and downs, highs and lows. It was a challenge at times, but it was also a time of growth! I am grateful for the year that was and I am looking forward to an amazing 2013.
