Pause to Remember

Reese and Maxine Painter

Each Memorial Day I am grateful for the opportunity I have to take some time and remember my grandparents. Each of them were so influential in my life in becoming the person I am. I love them and miss them often. Notice how cute they are in the pictures. The all just have the most warm and caring smiles. I sincerely wish all of you could have known them. I can guarantee you would love them as much as I do.
One memory of each of my grandparents:
Grandpa Painter--would take me to "the lot" and saddle the horse so I could go for a ride.
Grandma Painter--Made the BEST Rice and Carrot Puddings in the world. I still crave them!
Grandma Williams--Sat by my side the entire time I had the chicken pox to make certain I didn't scratch them.
Grandpa Williams--One day while mowing his lawn, grandpa walked around the corner of his house carrying a parakeet. The bird landed on his hand and since we didn't know how to find the owner, "Pretty Boy" was my new pet.
