Walking.....and......walking

A short note to wish a heartfelt congratulations to one of my oldest (and dearest) friends. This past weekend, Mindy Benson graduated from SUU with a Master's of Professional Communication Degree. I owe many of my friends at SUU to having known Mindy. Back during my early days I decided to run for Senate and was on the "Action" party. Which is where I first met Mindy. After my devastating 4 vote primary loss, Mindy kept me involved in student activities, until I was appointed to be the Assistant Student Body Controller. I thank Mindy for my student involvement as well as for keeping me motivated. Thank you Mindy and Congratulations on your many accomplishments.

Due to Mindy's graduation, I started reflecting upon my past. When an image popped into my mind. I immediately began the search to find this picture.

This picture was from when I walked in the Graduation Ceremonies at SUU. From left to right in the picture, Me, Cindy Hoyt, Mindy Benson, and Shane Lamb. (Look Shane finally got his shout out.) Yes, Shane and I decided it would be fun to wear shorts underneath those gowns. Oh, and I am in Teva's with Black Socks. Yes, I was the epitome of high fashion. The one thing you can't see, is on the mortar board. In lovely Masking Tape I had written, "Hell Froze". I was pretty excited about my graduation and was so happy to share the day with some of my wonderful friends. It is hard to imagine that it was so many years ago and I thought for certain I would see the three of them all the time. Sadly, I talk to Shane a few times a year and Mindy and I can text like no other to one another, but it has been literally years since I have talked or even seen Cindy. (Living half-way across the world will do that.) Despite all of this, I still love them and think of them often. (Wow, didn't expect this to get so sappy.) Anyway, I love all of my friends and wish you all the best.

Congratulations to Mindy. Attending SUU was one of the best decisions I've ever made!
