Boulder Mountain

On my first full weekend of being "Calling" and
"Talk" free, my family decided it would be a good weekend to go on a camping trip. So, on Thursday June 4, we loaded up the trailers, 4-wheelers, and fishing gear. After a quick stop in Sigurd to pick up Amberle we headed for Boulder.

It took us a bit long get where we wanted so we were setting up camp in the dark. Setting up two trailers and two tents is not the easiest task in the dark. We still managed to get it all done and get to sleep somewhere near the midnight hour.

Despite our late night, we were not deterred in our mission of fishing. We were up early and headed to find all the fish we could. After a several hour 4-wheel ride we made it to our destination. We spread out on the lake and started fishing. After just a few casts, I had a bite and I was able to real in the first fish of the trip. I caught a few more fish and I see my family start to gather back around the 4-wheelers as they yell to me that it is time to move on. I grab all of gear and head over to the meet them. I was anxious to hear the stories about the fish they had caught. Much to my surprise, only one other fish had been caught. This was not how the trip was going to end up. We spent most of the day light hours
fishing at various likes on the mountain and as it turns out, those fish I caught the first morning were the only fish I would catch. Which doesn't really bother me since I still had a great time. In addition to fishing, we took a couple 4-wheeler rides, played cards, as well as a few other games.

My only big gripe was the wind. Friday night the wind blew like crazy and knocked down the tent that Chris and I were staying in. I got up in the middle of the night and tried to fix it, but since I was still mostly asleep and the wind had not eased up, I had a difficult time. The fix I put in place lasted about as long as it took me to get back inside the tent and climb into my sleeping bag.

The weekend was great and I am ready to load the trailers back up and head out for another long weekend on the mountain.
