Beacons

Often times I am asked if I hate my drive to work. There are days when I do not like the thought of making the drive to the office. However, during my daily trek I am afforded the opportunity to see 5 Beacons to help me keep the world in perspective. I have made the drive often enough that I know the exact location when I can catch a first glimpse at each of them. The sight of each of these magnificent buildings reminds me; it is only work, traffic, or whatever might be on my mind at the time. I have to admit, most days when I arrive, at the office, I am in a better mood than when I left my house. I could give the credit to talk radio, to the music compilation I have going, or even my Diet Coke (with the good ice), but I honestly have to believe it is being able to see the light from these buildings and knowing that things will be better. To quote something often times heard, I can "See the Big Picture" or I am "Looking at the Eternal Perspective". Either way, I am very grateful each day when I have the opportunity to see the lights from each of these houses and a smile stretches across my face.
