LEGENDARY CUSTOMER SERVICE
The second post is Chili's Chevron just off the middle freeway interchange. Let me tell you why I chose Chili's. I love the fact that when I fuel up my car in the mornings or purchase my Diet Coke I can walk in the door and I see either Leslie or Carol and they greet me with a friendly smile and a "Good Morning Clint". I love that they know me by name, I love that it is someone that I have known my entire life. But it just isn't the cheerful hello, or the friendly conversation, what I like most about Chili's and Nephi in general is the genuine appreciation from our local owners.
On more than one occasion I have ran into Mike or Ann in Chili's and every time--every time, they have told me "Thanks". I tend to be a good judge of people and their intentions and I can honestly believe when they tell me "Thanks," it is sincere.
This appreciation is not limited to just one place, I find it in most places I patronize in Nephi. I will always go to Harmon Tire for my tires and a rotation. Same reason I go to Chili's. Whenever I am leaving, Trent tells me thanks for the business. I get the same greeting from Jolyn at Lillie's and Lace and from Patty at Lotsa Motsa. You see, these people aren't just clerks hired for minimum wage. These people are grateful for the patronage, because it is their livelihood. They have a vested interest in your return business.
During the last month or so, I have had to try my luck at some other places. Last week, I was running late and so, instead of stopping at Chili's for a drink, I hit the freeway and headed to work. Well, as I was about 5 miles from work I was craving some chocolate milk, so I ran in and grabbed a milk. There were 3 clerks standing together chatting, I smiled as I walked in and proceeded to the cooler to get my milk. I went to the counter to check out, I almost felt like I was hurting them they seemed so bothered to have me interrupt their conversation. More recently, I was running to Provo to catch a movie with some of my family. I didn't notice until nearly Payson that I should have fueled up my car. I pulled into a station and the pumps would not read my card, so I had to run inside to pay for my fuel. I told the clerk that I needed $20, on pump whatever. So, she rang it up and I swiped my card, well she messed up and it didn't take. The other clerk tried to help her out and told me I needed to swipe my card again. I was hesitant but she promised me that I would not be double charged. Yep, you guessed it. I was double charged. I am not saying these kind of things don't happen in Nephi, they just have never happened to me.
Just on more reason I love Nephi. I feel like I am appreciated as I support our local businesses.
