Each year as part of my "New Year's Resolutions" I resolve to be a better friend. After all, I have the best friends anyone could ever want. I figure that since I have the best friends, then I need to be the kind of friend I want to have. Well, as I said, this has been an annual goal for the last several years. Like most resolutions, I do my best to keep with it for a few months. I schedule lunch appointments or I call friends just to visit. I never seem to keep it going as well as I should, unless the situation falls into my lap.
That is what happened on Friday. I had a gift rolling around in my car for a couple weeks and I decided that I needed to get it delivered. So, on my way home from work I stopped off to visit with one of my best friends.
After about an hour and a half of manipulating his time and boring his family, I decided I needed to go. But no, wait, I couldn't stop talking. Through the course of the night, I began realizing how much I miss hanging out with my friend and also I realized that he knows way too much about my life. I am pretty sure he knows all of my secrets. Not just the general secrets, but ALL the secrets. He is the person that when I am elected President he will make all the money because he can write the tell-all book!
It was a great night and I loved getting caught-up. So, Cheers to you Shane Lamb! Thanks for being a friend.
