Reward?

As part of the annual Thanksgiving Weekend Tradition, we once again participated in the Black Friday shopathon. We had been to Target, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy when we realized it was 3:00 in the morning and we needed to get to in line for the Cabela's opening.

On the drive to Lehi, Mike reminded us that we needed to get into the line as quickly as possible, because the first 800 people in line would receive a gift. The first place gift was a 300 WSM, other gifts included; Hoodies, and a gift certificate anywhere between $5 and $100. We arrived at Cabela's about 3:15 and jumped into line. I was very surprised to see the long line. I was really expecting many people to still be out at the other stores shopping.

After parking the car, we jumped out to find a spot in line. While standing in line I realized just how poor my Black Friday planning had been. On my way out of the house I had not grabbed a jacket. I shivered as I pulled the hood of my sweater up to cover my ears. After a few minutes of standing and shivering, a gentleman that was friends with the people in front of us came by and said he had done a count as he walked back and figured we were really close to being at the end of the 800. At this point, I was on the verge of giving up and going back to the car to keep warm until the doors opened. I held out, I stayed and shivered! Moments before the store opened at 5:00 a.m. Cabela's associates came by handing out envelopes. I opened it up to find a gift card inside. Everyone around me had a gift card as well. However, mine was just a bit larger than theirs. I was excited to receive the high end of the gift cards. Kind of made standing out in the cold worth it.

Super awesome, so not worth it! That Black Friday shopping is INSANE! I will never attempt it again and will do my shopping instead on Thursday night from the comfort of my couch by the fire ONLINE. Which by the way had great deals also!
