I am kind of excited that for my first post with my new awesome blog design, I get to post some fun/great news.
Those of you that have known me over the years have heard me talk all about my brothers. (Honestly, you probably know way too much about them.) Well, my brother Mike, for those of you in Oregon, he is (was) my 8 year-old brother when I was there. Those of you from Cedar know him as my brother I was trying to recruit to SUU--we see how well that happened. From FranklinCovey he is my brother that went to China or you might know his as "Noni-Brother", "Gun-Brother" or my brother just younger than me. Well, last Sunday we found out that he is going to be called by a new name. In a few months, he is going to be called "dad". (Not by me, but by someone that will be his off-spring.)
I must say, I am pretty excited for him. Apparently, he and Ali have been trying for about 3 years now to be in this situation. Although, I would not know, he has NEVER said anything to me. I had to hear about it from a mutual friend. (Yes, I see nothing wrong with chewing him out a bit at the same time that I am congratulating him.)
Over the almost 3 years that I have been doing this blog, I have had a variety of friends share this news with me, but I have never before blogged about it. Truthfully, it has never been my news to share. Initially, I felt this way and had decided I wasn't going to write about it. But, I really couldn't much contain my enthusiasm anymore. I finally had to share. Anyway, I am very excited to once again be an uncle. Mike and Ali are excited at the prospect of becoming parents and I know they will make great parents. They have so much love to share and when I see them, I just know they are going to raise great babies. I have to admit it is a bit strange at the thought of my younger brother becoming a dad, I mean really isn't he still just a youngster? I guess he is old enough. Right? Right?? Regardless, I do want to tell Mike and Ali congratulations!!! It is great news.
