Local Greasy Spoons
While growing up, the local greasy spoons were spectacular. It wasn't often we went out to eat, but the local eateries were always a special treat. Sunday afternoons were for drives and an ice cream from Fros-T-Freez, usually a twin twirl! Vards was always a great place to get fries after going swimming. And TJ's well, I don't think they had a bad thing on the menu. I ran into Ted the other day and told him I would love to have a T Burger.
D.U.P. Museum
The building that currently houses the DUP Museum was once our County Courthouse. I never frequented the building much, but then again I wouldn't have a reason. What I do remember is on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse was a telephone booth, that always had to be checked for extra change and on the corner was a water fountain. This fountain was located in the perfect place to offer refreshment when walking home from school or the park.
The Old Mill Park
This is the newest park in town and although small is actually very beautiful. The mill on the creek actually spins and during the Christmas Season the park is covered in lights. The Old Mill Park is the location where the town's lighting ceremony is held.
Main Street
Of all places missing the list, this one probably has the strongest argument to make the list. I am certain as a teenager I put thousands of miles "dragging main". Much like The Max on Saved By the Bell or Central Perk from Friends, main street was the main social location in Nephi. You ran into your friends, met people from other towns, and drank copious amounts of soda. If you ever needed to find someone all you had to do was take a few mains and you could find them. Taking a main is what kept us out of trouble or sometimes what helped us to get into trouble. Many of my happiest teenage moments can directly relate back to good old main street.
I hope you all have enjoyed my series on Nephi. This is my hometown and is definitely where I feel more comfortable. Whether you have lived in Nephi all your life or just a few months, you have had an impact on Nephi and for the good or bad, Nephi has had an influence on your life. This great little city has had a profound impact upon my life. I guess this is why whenever someone takes a dig on Nephi, it upsets me or hurts just a little. It is a great town to grow up in and offered me great opportunities and experiences that I am certain i would have not gotten anywhere else.
Thanks for your patience and my self indulgence.

When I was little, back before the freeway was expanded we'd drive through Nephi on the way to Provo/Salt Lake. If I was with my grandparents, we never made the trip without a stop at the Taste T Freeze for ice cream.
