If you have not tried Greek Souvlaki, I would encourage you to give them a try. Seriously, they are my favorite lunch-time destination. Although, I do like to try a different menu items at the places I frequent, at "The Greek" as we call it at work, I stick with one thing. I order their low-carb special. This is a salad that comes not only with your basic lettuce and tomatoes, they fancy it up a bit by adding pepperceonis (I know that is not spelled correctly but I truly don't care), olives, red onions, cucumbers, feta cheese, Greek dressing and a chicken stick (kabob). There are items that I have them remove, olives, feta, and the Greek dressing. Additionally, I have them hold the Greek dressing and I order ranch dressing on the side. There are two reasons for this; I don't like the Greek dressing as much and if you don't order the dressing on the side, you wind up with too much dressing. Here it is, January, the middle of winter and their salad is still fresh and crisp. I swear they just picked the ingredients out of some hidden garden just for my salad. How do you get a good ripe tomato in January? Will someone answer me that question? I can't find a good one at the store and all of them from the garden are gone. It is the best salad you can eat.
One more thing. I have been going to the Greek Souvlaki on 35th South and Decker Lake Blvd. for almost 5 years now and they have yet to mess up my order. Everything has always been correct. Five years with a very picky person and not one mistake, that speaks volumes! I encourage any of you that have not been there to give it a try. OPA!

I love that place too! Great critique.
Man, the good old days. I wish I had Greek by me. However, I have driven all the way down there by myself to get a low carb special. And you are totally right, why are the tomatoes always garden fresh.
