Items of a Weight (E) Nature

Like some of you, my New Year involved a resolution to lose weight. (Once again--and always) To be fair, I was already a member of Weight Watchers, but it was time to renew my focus. I do have a cruise that I will be taking in a few weeks and I need to get myself into Cruise Shape, whatever that might be.

Last night I made the fateful return to weight watchers to face the music--or scale. As I slowly stepped onto the scale I held my breath and said to myself "think light". I waited until she gave me back my book to see the damage. I took a small peek and noticed that it was a gain of 3.2 pounds. As I look back through all of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New year's, I had a total weight gain of 1.4 pounds. Not too shabby, but definitely not the direction I want to be heading. Becauseof the impending weigh-in last night, yesterday was day one of the return to the diet. I survived! Trust me, it was not easy, but I did make it. At work I usually don't have too many problems, but once I hit the front door of the house, I hear a growling and I start searching the cupboards for a tasty treat.
In regards to work, officially, I have been given Carte Blanche power to be the Weight Watchers Nazi. At least Jocelyn told me I could tell her what to do and what she can and cannot eat while at work. Which, by the way, Jocelyn did not make it into the office yesterday. I called her to make certain she was sticking with the plan. As of 8:30 she was still a die hard. Apparently sometime after then her day fell apart. I told her that won't happen again.

Today was "return to the gym" for me. For the love!!!!! Who would have thought 90 minutes at the gym would have caused me a full day of muscle fatigue? It has only been 3 weeks since I was there last. How could I be this tired? But I made it! The workout was good and now I feel much better. As most of you know, I have been fairly faithful about hitting the gym 4 days a week. When John was my trainer I saw marked improvement, since then I am kind of floundering. This time, I have decided to be more diligent in my tracking and hopefully will see an improvement.

In the coming days there will be an Excel Spreadsheet attached tracking my progress. I am certain I will need help from you all to keep strong. I want to lose 20 more pounds before the cruise, I have only 40 some odd days, so this will require focus and attention!
