We had a nice dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and then had an escort over to the conference center and to our seats. We waited for the concert to start and within a few moments, the air was filled with wonderful Christmas Music from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Symphony. For nearly an hour and a half, we listened to this music and I was enchanted by by the choir. David Archuleta and Michael York were special guests. I have to admit that I have never much been a fan of Archuleta, but he did a fantastic job.
One of the highlight of the evening was when President Monson walked into the Conference Center. As soon as he stepped onto the floor, a hush fell over the audience and we all stood to honor and pay respect.
The evening was a great night. I was grateful for the opportunity to see the prophet, enjoy a great concert, and even more catch up with one of my oldest and dearest friends.
