Gratitude # 28 : Ice Cream

My favorite treat to end a day is a bowl of ice cream. My favorite is vanilla ice cream, once in a while it should have caramel sauce on top. Truth be told, it doesn't really matter what flavor, as long as it is ice cream.
I love it served on a cone, I love it in a bowl, I love it with toppings, without toppings, and I love it on top of a brownie or a slice of warm apple pie. It doesn't have to be expensive, it can be cheap, it can even come off the dollar menu.
Not certain if this comes naturally, just by being a Painter or where this craving comes from. I fondly remember going to my Grandparent's home on Sunday afternoons and watching grandpa dish up ice cream for all of the grand kids. I have often heard stories of ice cream cones being special Sunday treats for my dad when he was young. Once in a while for Sunday drives we would stop at Fros-T-Freez and get a "twin twirl". (The Pineapple and Vanilla ones tasted like a Twinkie.) Lest you think this is just a Painter treat, my mom has been known to have a bowl of ice cream after a long day as well.
Yes, I am a fan of ice cream and think there is no better treat to end a long day. While I am thinking about it, a bowl of ice cream would be a nice reward for finishing writing a blog post.
