While in college one of my favorite country bands, The Judds, came through Cedar City on their farewell tour. The conservative, poor college student, Clinton won the argument and I didn't attend the show. One of those minor regrets I have had over the years.
Jump ahead nearly 20 years. I heard the Judds were coming back on tour for their "Final Encore". I thought that I should attend this time and as soon as I heard the details I forgot them. A few weeks later I get a text message from my cousin Mika, she asks me if I want to go to the Judd's concert with them. Knowing this to be a sign from heaven :-) I gave Mika the affirmative text. Last night (12/9/10) the concert finally arrived.
All I can say; it was well worth the wait. They performed for nearly 3 hours and sang a full repertoire of Judd songs peppered with Wynonna's biggest songs from her solo career. I was very emotional during my personal favorite: Grandpa (Tell me about the good old days). After 2 sets, and an encore the duo returned to end with 3 Christmas songs. Although, a rather strange song for a concert Wynonna performed Ave Maria. Hearing this song, I was in awe of her talent. Don't get me wrong, up to this point I knew she was talented and definitely blessed with an amazing set of pipes. But the raw talent from her voice left me nearly speechless.
Here is a link to a concert review from one of the Salt Lake newspapers.

I know that in the overall scheme of life, this second chance is trivial at best. But on a very real note, if any of you are ever offered a second chance or an opportunity to erase a regret, right a wrong, etc. I hope you take that opportunity and are grateful for your second chances.

I really love the Judds. I teared up just reading the word Grandpa and Judds together. I dont know if I could see that live.
