Gratitude #8 : FC Finance Christmas Party

Party Committee Members Clinton and Fran.
The question is: Is my gratitude for the party or that the party is over? Maybe a little bit of both. I am not gonna lie, the Finance Christmas Party is honestly one of my favorite Christmas parties of the season. It is the rare opportunity for the Finance/Accountant type people to relax and have a little fun. This year, with an FB suggestion offered by fellow Nephite, Eschel Evon, we added an Ugly Sweater Contest to the mix. I have to admit, we had better participation than I had hoped. (I was guessing maybe 4-5 participants, which would build to a bigger/better turnout for next year.) I think we had 8 participants this year and let me tell you competition was fierce!

Each participant was required to walk the runway and show us what their sweater had to offer. We all struck poses to the Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy" and Ru Paul's "Supermodel". (Thank you iTunes for allowing me to find these songs that were all too apropos.)
Deborah showing us what the 80's were all about.
Kurt's entry was definitely a worth contender.
Our champion was Boyd and the sweater he "Borrowed" from his wife.

After our Ugly Sweater Contest we held the Third Annual Credebit Awards. (Is it sad that I might consider these awards to be my true legacy to FranklinCovey?)

Some of our more favorite awards this year were the:

"Little Miss Sunshine Award", "The Blind Date Award", and one of my personal favorites awarded to my Snuggie wearing friend Fran, "The Activist Award". Of course each award has an explanation to it, that only finance people might find amusing.

Lunch was at Tucano's. Where we indulged in mass quantities of Brazilian Grill. I think Sumsion's intake was down this year and has therefore warranted disappointment from me.

"Cheers" from Lynne and Jocelyn
Scott S., Steve Y., Boyd, and Steve H. Post indulgence.

Our luncheon was followed up by the 3D movie "Hubble" on the IMAX at Clark Planetarium. I HIGHLY recommend this movie to one and all. What an experience. Mind you that comment was from a non-science guy. (Which in my mind weighs heavier than a science geek.)

Derek and Scott O. waiting for the feature to start.
Although the party planning causes me stress each year, it is always fun. And we do have the best party planning committee in all of FC, no really the world. Thanks to everyone for making this day so much fun and making this party my gratitude #8.
