How often have you heard it on TV, in the movies, or have said it yourself in jest? "Let's do lunch. Have your people call my people." I am here to tell you, "Let's do lunch!" It isn't even about the food, it is all about the company. My friend Gary loves to get people together for what he calls Fun Lunch Friday. I don't know if there are rules behind FLF, but it is always a good time.
Last week I was having a bit of a rough week and just needed a break from work. Well, it turned out that lunch is just what I needed. Thursday my dad was in Salt Lake for his work and so he and I went out to lunch. It was a nice kicked-back totally relaxing lunch and since I work in SL and him Nephi, something that rarely ever happens. The following day, I went to lunch with Pat one of my Fraternity Brothers. (My Little Brother) It was exactly what the doctor ordered for that day. I had not seen Pat in well over a year and it was great to get caught-up with him.
Sometimes, lunch isn't even lunch. Sometimes Lunch is just a great stress relief. Often times, I look at the list of things I need to get done and there just is not time enough for it all. Using lunch-time to run errands might not always be fun, but when you are able to cross 2, 3, or 4 items off your list, that sense of accomplishment is not only a stress relief, but also a huge motivator.
Today, I am grateful for Lunch-time. So, what do you say? "Have your people call my people and let's do lunch." (Or you can just email me.)
