Gratitude #4 : Music

This post should come as a shock to no one. I make no bones about loving music. Music is such therapy for me. No matter what mood I am in, or how I am feeling, I can always find a great song that will either fit the circumstance or help to alter my less than desirable mood.

After a bad day at work, I love a great Hard Rock song to just sing with -- at the top of my lungs. I am certain if people were to watch me as i drive, I would put in a pretty doggone good show. If I am already in a good mood, a pop song helps to perpetuate the mood.

Music defines a road trip. If you take some good music with you, while driving, whenever you hear that song it can remind you of the trip and the great time you had. Now with MP3's you can take thousands of song with you and it is all in one compact location. Back when I used to take more frequent road trips, I would bring BOOKS of music with me. Oh how convenient music is!

This time of the year I particularly love music. I am a huge Christmas Music Junkie! Every year I find one or two new CD's to add to my collection. There truly is something magical about Christmas Music for me. It is the true pick-me-up music in my life. In addition, each year I create a playlist and CD from my Christmas music. I find it interesting that each year I very seldom repeat songs. Well, that is not true, I do repeat songs but the artist changes. It's amazing how a different artist can completely re-create an old favorite. Sometimes a song that I pick up one year doesn't make my list until a future year. It all just depends on what I need at that time.

Because I love music and am definitely not talented enough to produce it myself. I am grateful for music and all of the amazing people that are willing to share their talents.

Hey Mr. Sweet Tunes Friday...this is a great post. I am sure a good portion of utah county refers to you as that "crazy singing driver guy".
